Located within the Former Ethiopian National palace compound, Unity Park represents a new open and welcoming government. The area had previously been closed-off to the public for decades, being accessible only to royalty and dignitaries.
The park was redeveloped as a public space, complete with art installations, kids play areas and an animal zoo, representing a change and evolution in civic culture.
GLSW was engaged to resolve various art-like installations and the global wayfinding for the project. A contemporary system of signage was developed, dual language in Amharic and English and brightly coloured with an extensive use of iconography.
Additionally, our branding team lead the brand development of this new public space.
